Company News Archive 2012

Monday 17th December 2012 (update 1)

We know you’ve all loved our books, from the letters, cards, emails, phone calls, and personal wishes over the last few months. We have, however, never been lyrically blessed with a poem, all about our titles, from Krystina B from Guildford, Surrey.

“If you are lost and want to know
Just where to go,by bus.
A company called ‘Here to There’,

Will tell you-without fuss.

The information they provide
Is almost without equal;
Support the venture all you can
There’s bound to be a sequel!

Traveline can be okay,
For odd journies that you make
But books produced by ‘Here to
Are what you ought to take.

If you contact Traveline,
Some times aren’t up-to-date.
But arm yourself with ‘Here to
There’s no finer journey mate!”

Monday 17th December 2012 (update 2)

Our post is being redirected from the old place, but the telephone number ending in 268 is no longer in use. Please see here for alternative telephone numbers.

Wednesday 10th October 2012

We have a small number of sets of National Express coach timetable leaflets – up to and including June 2012. We are offering these as a stop-gap between the 2011 and next H2T NX Guide, which will be due around the turn of the year. These are offered for the special price of £1.50 each, plus £3.00 postage (as it’s packet rate with 67 different leaflets). These are offered while stocks last – email us if you’d like one or more.

As you know, we are about to move in the coming days, PLUS have a stall at the LOTS ATS. We will pick up keys Friday 12th (and collect books for) ATS Saturday 13th, and move on Monday 15th. If you need our new details, see here! Our new business numbers are part of a Vonage service, so these are already active, but only until Sunday 14th October, when the phone etc. get packed away, ready for the move the following day. The new phone and fax lines should be operational from Tuesday 16th October 2012, at some stage of the day. We will have 3G & mobile access throughout, so email and mobile is still an option. Emails may take a bit longer than 24 hours to respond to – sorry, but we promise to come back to you as soon as we can.

Saturday 6th October 2012

As most of you know, we are about to move premises & home. We get the keys on Friday 12th, and move in Monday 15th. So, in the meantime, we have to pack up home and business this coming week, and prepare for the LOTS Sale. So, there may well be a delay in fulfilling titles that we hold in stock, or responding to requests for information. Please be assured that we will get back to you, probably after 16th October 2012. We will also be at the LOTS sale (“Autumn Transport Spectacular”) in eight days time, at Harrow Leisure Centre, north west London, and we are happy for you to collect/pay for orders in person there. We will have all our new books, and the range of Steve Knight’s books. If the book you want is not on the stall on the day, or we’ve sold out, we will be happy to discuss having these sent to you directly.

In one slightly unusual turnup, our four new telephone numbers (plus the fax) for the business are already live. So, please feel free to contact us on any number you have for us in the interim.

Thursday 4th October 2012

Lots to say! We have no order backlog, and have been doing weekly despatches (initally experimentally) for a while, and it seems to work.

We are about to move to Welwyn Garden City – see this download for the contact details. We have just completed our new book series for Hertfordshire and Luton (well, 2 out of 4), London (4 out of 5) along with the print edition of Barry Doe’s Directory of Bus & Train Timetables.

Special Offers!

Get £1 off each of the new timetable books, or 60p off Doe’s Directory, when you buy before 30th November 2012. However, if you’d like to buy even more, we can offer the following deals;

Herts & Luton Set Special – A complete set of the four Herts & Luton books – including courier delivery to the UK Mainland – only £64.00 !!!

London Set Special – A complete set of the five London books – inclding courier delivery within the UK – only £75.00!!!

Buy both sets, and we’ll throw in a free copy of Doe’s Directory!

To order these sets email us with your details, and we will send you a PayPal Invoice. Failing that, cheque or postal order is fine.

All these Special Offers will see the products despatched together, but we reserve the right to ship seperatly (see notes about moving location soon!)

Tuesday 21st August 2012

We are currently expericing a backlog of orders, which have came around the time we are working on our end-of-year accounts, and appointing a Accountant. Something that we have to do, as a limited company, and then we can look at our end of year filings – as we’ve been going one year on 30th August! We’ve also been working hard on the Herts & Luton set of 4 books – freelancers are working hard on the Indexes, and we’d hope to have them out in September. We’ve compiled all we need in that respect, and three out of the four indexes are completed, a day or two ahead of plans. So, we will intend to get all the back orders done in the next 10 days.

Here To There is also under construction – we now have to find out how to set up all the multiple postage options that we have. In the meantime, please use this page for sales and updates.

Sunday 5th August 2012
We’re still here – working away hard in the background on a couple of projects that I don’t want to jinx by mentioning here… but in short…
Our new online shop is whirring away nicely – although it’s not yet open. We’re able to edit/update the postage costs, but I am still trying to work out how to do the “postage in proportion” sizes too – as well as to split our options, like DPD is used from the printers, where we use Hermes (couriers) in addition to the Royal Mail. We also want some new publications to announce into the late sdummer/autumn, and keep watching!

Monday 23rd July 2012
Please excuse the cyber-cobwebs on this site!!! We’ve been very busy of late on many projects, not helped by the desktop PC behaving weirdly! We’ve not lost any of our orders or data – we’ve just lost several weeks trying to get it all to work! We now have two machines – one brand new laptop (used as a desktop at the moment) and another one as a spare. The problematic machine, C assures me, is working fine now she’s got Ubuntu on it, instead of Windows 7 64-bit… but she also has about 8 Macs, not at all biased of course! So – where are we? Data for Herts book going out to the freelancers this week, so I’d like these out in August. Cambs etc. then to follow in due course. National Express – keep watching this space for news, but we will be able to sell a complete set of timetable leaflets in the coming days, as a stop gap between the current old book and the next one. I will ensure a further update is posted within 7 days of the above.
